Matilda sustained an injury this morning that looked pretty nasty.
It was obvious the eye lid was ripped but we were worried about the eye itself.
Dr. Specht cleaned it up and advised that, fortunately, the eye itself was not damaged.
It took over two hours and a dozen stitches but Dr. Specht did a great job putting it back together. Now, we hope and pray it holds.
We don’t know what the final costs for this will be – Matilda will need a couple of follow-up vet visits. For now, hope and pray it holds together. It’s pretty swollen tonight. We’re keeping her as comfortable as possible.
#ComeToTheirRescue and meet Matilda and the gang at our April 23rd #ASPCA #HelpaHorse Day #Celebration. You could help us potentially win up to $25K in grant funds to help the horses!
